Review & Prepare

Thank you for providing your details.

In advance of the BER assessment, there are a few things you can do to ensure a smooth process:

  1. Review the Terms and Conditions: Please take a moment to read the “Letter of Engagement”. This must be signed as part of the SEAI requirements. I’ll bring a hard copy on the day for signing.
  1. Prepare Your Home: For a thorough assessment, I will need access to:

   – Every room, including the attic

   – The garage, boiler house, or any area containing the boiler

   – The hot press, with clear access around the hot water cylinder

  1. During the Assessment: I will gather information through measurements, documentation, and photographs to accurately generate your BER report. If you would like to verify my identity, please feel free to ask for my ID when I arrive.
  1. Supporting Documentation:

   – If you have carried out energy upgrades, please have any supporting documentation available for review.

   – If I haven’t yet received your MPRN, kindly have it ready.

  1. Letter of Engagement: You can review the letter of engagement [here] before the assessment day. Please ensure you are familiar with and satisfied with its contents, as we will sign it on the day.
  1. Dwelling Age: If you have knowledge of your home’s construction age or any extensions, we will document it on the letter of engagement. I can use this, along with other information, to date the construction in accordance with DEAP methodology.

Thank you for your cooperation in preparing for the assessment. I’ll provide an approximate time for the survey once I assess the scope of work involved.
